ENROLMENT OPENS JANUARY 2024
Mahjong isn’t just a game. It’s a reason to gather with the women who make you laugh, lift you up, and keep you sane.
A game that feels relaxing, a little clever, and just challenging enough to pull you out of “real life” for an hour or two.
Fun With Mahjong walks you through the game in clear, friendly steps so you can spend less time Googling rules and more time laughing, snacking, and playing.
Just an easy way to learn the game everyone’s talking about.
Everything you learn prepares you to sit down with friends and actually play. Less Googling and more laughing, snacking, and enjoying the game together.
Move slowly or binge a few lessons at once — the course fits the way you learn. Play, pause, rewind, repeat… whatever helps things feel easy and relaxed.
Learn in simple, friendly chunks that make everything finally “click.” No overwhelm, no jargon — just the kind of guidance that makes you feel capable from the very first game.
I’ll be honest — for years I thought Mahjong was something my mom and her friends did while they ate bars and drank iced tea.
Then one week she was short a player and asked me to fill in… and five minutes in, I was hooked.
It wasn’t the tiles or the strategy — it was the laughter, the rhythm, the way the whole table forgot the rest of the world for a couple of hours. That’s when I realized Mahjong isn’t an “age thing”… it’s a friendship thing.
Later, when I wanted to learn the game more deeply, I asked my mom where she learned. She said, “From my friends.”
And that’s when it hit me: unless you’re lucky enough to have a teacher at your kitchen table, there’s no easy way to learn this incredibly fun game.
So I created Fun With Mahjong: Play Like You Belong — a friendly, welcoming place to start.
If you’ve ever thought, “Mahjong looks fun… but how would I even begin?”
You’re in the right spot.
Nope. That’s the whole point. You can do the entire course at your own pace. Mahjong feels overwhelming when it’s explained with jargon, speed, or pressure. I don’t teach that way. I break everything down into clear steps, lots of examples, and practical explanations you can learn and come back to, over and over again.
Yes. Absolutely yes. And here’s a secret: I’m not a strategy person either.
Mahjong isn’t about memorizing hands or outsmarting people. It’s about rhythm, pattern recognition, and making satisfying little decisions as you go. If you can play a matching game, you can learn Mahjong.
Nope. You can learn completely on your own. And once you are ready to play with friends, you’ll feel confident walking into any group — whether you’re joining an existing table or hosting your first-ever Mahjong Night.
This isn’t a big commitment. Lessons are short, friendly, and designed to be watched between errands, carpool runs, or while you’re waiting for the oven to beep. You can go as slowly or as quickly as you want - the whole experience is meant to feel light and enjoyable, not like homework.
Not right away. I’ll show you what to look for, what to skip, and how to avoid buying something you don’t need. If you already have a set, great — bring it along. If not, you can still start the course using printable downloads and visual guides.
Perfect. Truly. Play Like You Belong was designed with beginners in mind, especially women who’ve watched Mahjong from the sidelines thinking, “That looks fun… but intimidating.” You don’t need prior knowledge, fancy vocabulary, or a friend to teach you. You just need curiosity and a few minutes at a time.
